I got that a lot

 I GOT THAT A LOT..

What was the statement that usually we get used to hear in life? It was something that everyone would experienced when talking with anyone whether what others expecting about you, what the world around you say about you. It was always happened. Well as we know, when meeting up with someone the first thing we would always love to do is judging someone based on his or her appearance.

Back to the main topic, what was I got a lot? I will always hear that someone say my face is absolutely like my mother. I can tell that most of my mother's friend or other relatives would say that to me. Even my friends always tell me that I am totally same like my mother. They will always easily recognize my mother even if I'm never told them. I had get used with it since it was always happen to me. Well, like mother like daughter right?

Actually everyone around me would always compare me with my sister. They will always think I am the older sister compare to my sister. I don’t even know why. Maybe I look more matured or maybe she looks so young. Actually until now I am still didn’t know the truth reason is. But it doesn’t really matter to me as the truth is I am the younger sister.

Apart from that my mother keeps reminding me to put the family as the first priority no matter what was happen. I should always help each other even if I becoming a rich person or becoming someone that is successful in life. The most important thing is to have a good relationship with the family members. Never proud with anything that you have as everything that you have is from the barakah of their prayers. They will always pray for your success in hereafter, support whatever you are doing, motivate you and always be there for you through thick and thin.

Moreover most of my friends always think that I am the youngest in my family. They will shock when they know that I have two younger brothers. They said that I am suite enough like a youngest child. How come they always think like that? Hmm, maybe they think that my parent always pampering me. The truth is my parent especially my mom whose always treat each of her children like that.

People who first meet me will say that I am quite snobbish, quiet and unfriendly. But if they know me closer they will say that I am a person that easily laugh and sometimes doesn’t know how to stop laughing. I am very friendly and can friend with anyone. But I admit that something I am pretty hard to break the ice when met new people. But, after starting any conversation I can get along with it. Better know me before judging me okay?

I think that all from me. Hope you like it.

Making judgement

Hello everyone! Okay, I have been given another task to write an entry which is entitled 'making judgement'. Actually this is the my first entry in this new year, 2016. It have been awhile since I wrote the entry before. Did you know what is the meaning of making judgement? Making judgement is the act or process of forming an opinion or decision that is based on external appearance.

People can often be treated and judged in the less than equal manner before the people even know the true nature of the person. One of my most favorite quotations is that of Martin Luther King Junior. "I have a dream, that one day my children will be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." People should make judgement of the person's character, not by their appearance, race, religion, and morals. This is because it is unfair to make assumptions about a person's character based on outward appearance and because people change their appearance to fit different situations.

Everyday people make assumptions based on other's appearance instead of knowing their true color of behaviour. I believe that this is not the right way to do. To begin with, someone's external experience is not a mirror of his or her inner self. I can relate of example form my own life, have an experience on how the people around me say that I am a quiet person and I am not so friendly. Even my bestfriend said that too when she met me for the first time. The truth is I am a person who not seem friendly but if you get to know me further I am a person that can easily laugh even for a small jokes. Yeah, I know that we are all the same as human being ,we keep easily judge someone without getting to know each other first.

Never judge a book by its cover. For instance, Napoleon Bonaparte, who was a very short guy, is one of the famous people in the history; besides, many scientists and great men in the world have had inappropriate faces or clothes but they always stick in our mind because of their admirable characters.

If you still remember the story about Michael Oher that is from the true story that I had been wrote on my previous entry. It was how easily people making judgement based on his body sizes, he was came from a drug addicted parent and he is a homeless teenage Africa- american. This is not fair for us to easily think that he is a not useful and cannot be successful person.

Similarly judgement based on their on external appearance can lead us to the conclusions that are not true. In Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice, the heroine Elizabeth forms a strong opinions of a man's character before she hears his side of the story. But the balance of the facts reveals that she made a wrong judgement.

In conclusion, judgement based on external appearance creates a wrong perception. External appearance often does not expose everything about a man. We never know what is the story behind every person that we met. We never now how hard his or her life that they have been through before. So we should be aware before we jump into any conclusions.

The movie based on true story that inspired me

“The Blind Side” is the extraordinary true story of Michael Oher (Baltimore Raven’s 2009 NFL Draft pick) and the Tuohy family. I truly believe that this is movie is an instant classic in the making; an uplifting, inspirational, heart warming true story of love, redemption, and hope.

It is based on the true story of the Tuohy family, and their adopted family member, Michael Oher, who graduated from high school, went to Ole Miss, and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL.  It is an inspiring story. The movie is filled with valuable lessons, about compassion and the challenge of rising above horrific circumstances. It is about the difference that one person ,in this case, one family can make in a human life.

Based on the true story of Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy who take in a homeless teenage African-American, Michael "Big Mike" Oher. Michael has no idea who his father is and his mother is a drug addict. Michael has had little formal education and few skills to help him learn. Leigh Anne soon takes charge however, as is her nature, ensuring that the young man has every opportunity to succeed. When he expresses an interest in football, she goes all out to help him, including giving the coach a few ideas on how best to use Michael's skills. They not only provide him with a loving home, but hire a tutor to help him improve his grades to the point where he would qualify for an NCAA Division I athletic scholarship. Michael Oher was the first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in the 2009 NFL draft.

Accept the differences

What I find amazing in this movie is how nicely all the members of the Tuohy family accepted Michael in to their lives. They accepted the differences but never made Michael feel like an outsider. I find it incredible that even after having a black president, people in America can be so prejudiced and racists. What the Tuohy family did was fascinating and heartwarming.

.

Starting friendships in the most unknown circumstances with the most unlikely person.

Sometimes it is so hard for us to be friend with someone that  we are not unfamiliar with. But as a good person we should  know them first before we jump into any conclusion. Just try to be nice and treat them well. We never know their attitudes and kindness until we be friend with them. This can be seen when the tuohy's daughter and son make a good relationship with Michael even though they not know each other. Their relationship become stronger and stronger and they are just like a one family.

Gratitude for the small things that we take for granted.

For me, every single scene was exceptionally moving and made me realize above all how many things we take for granted and how easily we forget how incredibly lucky and blessed we are to have things like food, shelter and a loving and caring family. Leanne Tuohy is an incredible woman who saved a life from being ruined by poverty and negligence. She is a true hero who opened not only her home but also her heart to this misunderstood boy who was just lost.

For a change, doing the right and the hard thing, irrespective of what the world might say.

In this story it reminds me that I should do whatever that I want to do and just ignore what the people around would say about me. It doesn't matter what others think as long as I know what I am doing and I will never give up to prove that what I did is right. In this story, Michael did not believe in him and he did not feel confidence to face the world but Leigh Ann would always say that he can do it and now he become successful man.

Determination and persistence

Besides that, the story inspired me that no matter how hard it was to catch my dreams, never feel give up. Determination and persistence is the main key to succeed in life. Always believe in myself and just keep going even though there are many obstacles that I have to face.

Always feel grateful

There were many scenes that just gutted me. One of them is the time when Michael goes in to the school carrying a polythene bag made me want to beg for forgiveness so badly. I have a perfectly fine bag but I’ve been saving up money and wanting to buy a nice, branded bag that made a statement. Well, carrying a polythene bag certainly makes a statement.

There still some hope

The Blind Side carries a lot of tough life lessons, none easy to adapt to. But it tells me that in this cruel and bad world, where all Hollywood cares about is making big budget flicks about the world ending, there still is some hope. There still are people who do good and have pure hearts. People, who might not look big on the outside, but have really big hearts and have the infinite capacity to love and affect change.

Never judge a book by its cover

In a nutshell, from the story, we know that we should never judge a book by its cover. Never judge someone based on his or her looks. Someone should be treated well even though she or he does not seem good in front of us. Just accept their differences and never treat them based on their appearances and personalities.

How would your life be different if you become the leader of your country?

Leadership is a common and quite simple word but rather very difficult word to define due to its complexity and multifaceted composition.A leader is any person who is appointed to be in charge of a body or a group of people and to take care of all their interests in an impartial way. He has to be strong mentally and able to guide his followers to success based on facts and considering the risks involved in making a move towards a specific set of goals. According to the topic, what would my life be different if I become the leader of my country? Absolutely, everything that i wish or dream will come true. Well, have you ever wish to become the leader? Have you ever think about it?

If I were the leader of my country, how would my life would be?? hmm,of course I will become one of the most richest person in my country as all the assets in my country is belong to me. I can do a lot of thing with the money and I can buy anything that I want. People around me will call me a millionaire !! I could not imagine it either.

Next, I will be one of the influential person as I was selected to be the leader in my country. I am responsible to make any decision and i have the right to make what was my country would be. Whatever my decision is, everyone should obey to me.I have the responsible for my own country and its depends on me.

Besides, I will become famous and well-known person on the earth. Everyone will know me and they will feel really proud to see me. Well, I am the famous person right? I will have many fans and my face will be seen everywhere. The will be a lot of banners and newspaper that fill with my name on it.

My life would be accompanied by bodyguards and polices. Whenever I go, there will be someone accompany me as my safety is important. I have to be really aware with strangers and everyone surrounding me. Actually,I will fell really annoyed to go anywhere as there will be someone who will always following me.

I have to assume greater responsibility in my life. I am responsible towards my folks regarding to their needs, their future and their life. Everything should be in my minds. I have to think the ways to manage all the money that I should use for my folks efficiently. Management of the money is important to ensure stable economy in my country.

Moreover,my life will completely change as I have to think the plan not only for my future but also for the sake of my citizen.  A good leader must put the interests of his people first. One of the main challenges that a leader faces is ensuring that he considers the people’s interests above his own ones when making any decision. A great leader should not be selfish.

Life is not always bed of roses, being a leader especially in a country there will be anyone that are against you . Well, in this challenging life there will always haters that only see our bad rather than our kindness. Maybe there are many person out there that will against your decision as a leader. Our decision would never be accepted by the whole people. There will always something that are not right in their eyes. It was really hard to win everyone's hearts.

I will be the busiest person ever. Yeah, of course! My schedule will fill with a lot of activities that I have to attend many meetings, discussions and conferences. I have to manage my time wisely as a leader in  my country. I have to ensure that everything is managed in a perfect time and in perfect ways. If not, how come my country can be developed.

Furthermore, I will have a lot of friends whether in my country or from others country. Well, when we become someone that are famous anyone would love to be our friend. My friend will comes from different culture, religion and different perceptions. Indirectly, I can learn something new with them.

If I were the leader i should always think on how to ensure that there are many works provided in my country with various field so that there are fewer unemployed people in my country.  I will make sure that all  of my citizen to have their own income and have their good life with her or his family. Well as you know money is everything in our modern life. We cannot live in this earth without money.

Last but not least,  I should always beware in anything that I did. I should think carefully and wisely to do anything. There will always reporter that will follow me anywhere I go. I am the leader for my country and I have to become smart enough to think what I have to do or not to do. I am the idol and inspiration for my country.

In a nutshell, being a leader is not an easy thing to do. Everything we have to manage efficiently in order to keep our country develop and more competitive.  As a person strive to climb the ladder of good leadership, it is important to avoid disorganization at workplace because such behaviour always leads to having employees without direction just like their leaders. In fact disorganized leaders don’t always guide their teams properly because they don’t deliver and manage their plans and strategies appropriately.

How to be confident to speak in English ??

Hello everyone, I have been given for another task in my foreign language class and here am I, writing for the new entry .The question that is given was how to be confident to speak in English. Well, everyone in their life will have their experience of speaking in English in front of anyone, right? Can you imagine or remember your first experience of speaking in English. When all eyes were on you and you have to be brave enough to stand in front of them. URGGGGHHH, it feels like there are butterflies in your stomach. It was such a scariest moment ever. I still can remember it either.

Okay enough for remembering that moments, we stick into the main topic. What are the tips on how to be confident to speak in English?

Firstly, read texts out loud. When using this way, you will finally capable to pronoun the words correctly. You will know that your pronoun is wrong when you try to read it loudly. It will sound weirdly when it was wrong. SO, by using this way, you can improve your level of pronunciation.

Next, make friend with English speaking expats. It is one of the effective ways to boost your confident level. If you are forced to speak in English as they cannot understand our mother tongue language, by hook or by crook you have to speak in English with them. Of course you will feel terrible in the first trial to speak with them but in the end you will feel more confident and comfortable communicate with them.

Another way to boost your confident is to take it easy. Well, maybe you are wondering what is that means. Always remember that, just because you are speaking to someone in English it doesn’t mean that you have to try out every word and every grammatical structure you know. You just have to listen to the other person carefully and respond to what other people are saying. You respond can be a smile or frown, a few simple words or maybe a short question. Well, it doesn’t have to be complicated.

Prepare. YEAH, it was one of the ways to feel confident. Practicing speaking will make you a better speaker. Even if you speak by yourself, you are training the muscles of your mouth and throat to produce English sounds. You can review things that you have learned and learning specific vocabulary regarding the topic that you will talk.

Finding a technique that works for you can helps you feel comfortable when speaking aloud. There are many technique that you can learn and practice. It depends to you. You may find that simple breathing exercises can quickly make you seem calmer. Just take a deep breath and try to talk in front of the audience. Truthfully, it can decrease your nervous. I have tried this indeed.

Your attitude and your mind set are just as important as the time you take to learn and prepare. You need to remember that you can speak English. It can possess you an excellent source of English vocabulary. Think positive. Believe with your English skills and focus on the English concepts that you have mastered.

Other than that, work in groups of five or smaller can make you feel better to speak in English. Two heads are better than one. Two people working together have a better chance of solving a problem than one person working alone .When discussing, you will get more ideas to present and it make you be more confident to talk. You will feel really calm and comfortable without any worries.

Trust your teacher. It means that you have to believe that your teacher will always support and helps you to improve your English. You have just to ask from your teacher on how to practice to be a good speaker. Try to speak in front of your teacher and he or she will give the comments. Take their advice to motivate you and learn to avoid the same mistakes. Remember that teacher will always want to see their students to succeed. So please don’t be shy.

Get more out of listening! You can watch the videos from the youtube or maybe you can learn from the television. Try listening not just to what words mean but to how the person says them. Notice which words the person links together in a sentence and how they pronoun each words. Remember these details and the next time you speak and you English will begin to sound more natural.

Fake it till you make it. You have to pretend to be good at something and pretend to be confident. As you continue and build your skill, your fake confidence will be replaced by real confidence. Sometimes you need to be pretended to improve your confident to speak in English. Maybe you will feel like it is such an unrealistic ways but it was true.

Hopefully, you can practice all the tips above to boost your confident to speak in English. I hope it can help you. Good luck!

Challenges that I have faced in acquiring English

English is a language that has been widely used in many varieties throughout the world. It is one of the most widely spoken languages. Although it comes second to Mandarin in the total number of speakers, English is the language you’ll be able to use most widely, as it’s spoken in more countries than any other language. Being able to speak English allows you to communicate effectively in numerous countries, and this opens up lots of possibilities for you in terms of the countries you could choose to seek work in one day – not to mention travel to as a tourist. You won’t have to worry about getting lost when you travel to an English-speaking country, as you’ll easily be able to ask for directions, and taking guided tours, ordering food and chatting to the locals will no longer be a source of stress.

Well in acquiring English, there are many challenges that i have faced . One of them is I got fear of participating and interaction with mainstream students. I feel really terrible to tolerate and communicate with some student that makes me feel annoyed with. But I have to foster my self-esteem to be able participate with other student as there will be more presentations and teamwork needed to be done in the university. I have to get used with it now or never.

Next, unfamiliar with the vocabulary is also one of my difficulties learning English. I have to search the meaning for the unknown vocabulary in the dictionary . Sometimes i found that it hard for me to know how to choose the correct and related vocabulary in my essay or writing.

Moreover, practicing the correct pronunciation in speaking in English. Actually it was pretty hard to pronoun certain words . Absolutely,it was something that comes naturally and it is gifted if anyone can speak English well. Obviously, i was really envy with my friend that can pronoun correctly in English. However, I will try my best to practice more and more to improve my pronunciation.

Afraid of doing grammatical error in writing. Yeah, of course we did not want to see our essay full of errors right?  Although I have taught about the common grammar since my primary school, but I'm always make the silly and common mistakes in my essay.

Lacking of motivation also make me hard to speak in English especially in front of other people. My family and teachers are not really encourage me to speak in English. I need the motivation from my surrounding people to make me feel confident on speaking in English.Of course if the people around us make the good respond and listen our presentation carefully, we will feel really enjoy to speak in front of them.

Besides, I am usually get used with the mother tongue language as while I was still a child my parents always taught me to use that particular language. Well, practice makes perfect! That why it takes times for me to practice and speak fluently in English.

I have less confident in talking in front of my friend. I'm feeling shy even though I have done a lot of presentation in front of my common friends. I need to be more relax and  I have to take a deep breath before talking in front of them. As you know, calamity is the touchstone of a brave mind.

Sometimes, I have the problems on using the correct grammar especially "the exceptions to the rules". It takes some times for me to choose whether I have to use simple, compound or complex sentences in my writing.

Next, English is used only in class. I'm barely used English to start my conversation with strangers or someone that I am not familiar with. I do not practice to speak English in front of my friends. I am scared that they will laugh at me.

Last but not least, lacking of practice.Repeated practice is just like what it sounds! I'm as a students as well as others students need repeated practice hearing on using a new language. We need multiple opportunities to comprehend and express our ideas in a new language. Like with anything new that we learn, practice helps us get better.

In a nut shell, there are many ways to overcome our challenges whether in acquiring in English or other problems in our life. Bear in mind that where there is a will there is a way. You don't overcome challenges by making them smaller but by making yourself bigger. Just trust that every problem has a solution.

The New Me

Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and wished that you could change the way you look?Maybe that you think that you're the fairest guy or girl in the land, but do you wish you could be more intelligent , or more charming or even more ambitious?

The new me? It was something that hardly to be describe. Well one thing that I am pretty sure is I want to become a successful person in the future and of course my target now is to be a specialist doctor . Now I am on my road to medical school. What I have to do now is to wake up and starts to prepare myself fighting for the sake of my life . Never say never! yes it was the song that really motivate me that I 'll never give up to achieve what I want . Just think about how far I have come before I think about give up.

A news that really change my life as I got the offer from Yayasan Terengganu to study further in medical. It was really unpredictable and unbelievable.. at the same time I am not sure whether I'll make the right decision. From that day, I've set my mind that Allah have show me this way and all I have to do is just depend on Him .I have to use this chance the best that I could. Alhamdulillah , Allah have give me such a lovely parents for me. My parents always give me a lot of motivation to keep me going and their hope will always make me to be more confident. They are my strength, Truthfully,  they are everything to me and I rather to do anything just to make them proud of me.

The first day of my second semester, I have my new vision to become a responsible student. Yes, I have to change! Remember better late than never. Hello! I don't want to cry over the spilt milk. SO,what I have to do now? I have to use all the time that i have wisely. "If you want to succeed , you have to change yourself not others ", said my former secondary school teacher. That words was always lingering in my head. What you do , it was you that will get back that reward. Everyone else can only happy for you but it was you who get everything that you want. FIGHTING!!! I have to become more hardworking, be more punctual and never do the assessment last minute. I have to prepare myself completely before going to exam although it was just quiz or test. I'll not take it easy anymore. I have a lot of people around me that are put their trust on me and I am responsible to make their dreams come through. Obviously, their happiness make my life feel wonderful. My sacrifice will never could replace my parents' sacrifice. I wish that one day they will proudly said that she is our daughter.

Bear in mind that " your dreams in life aren't going to just happen ,you have to make them happen by working hard and stay focused" .

From now  you will see the new me..

KEEP IT UP AND DON'T GIVE UP :))
